The Inspectorate Division (INS) implements the Technical Secretariat’s on-site verification activities ensuring the efficient and effective deployment of inspection teams to both military and industrial facilities around the world in accordance with the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC). INS maintains the preparedness to respond to and investigate allegations of use of toxic chemicals as weapons and to conduct, upon request from States Parties in the event of a chemical incident, Challenge Inspections and Investigations of Alleged Use in accordance with Article X of the CWC.

The Programme Control and Monitoring Branch (CMB) oversees the development and implementation of the Division’s programme and budget and manages non-staff operational financial resources

CMB improves efficiencies and ensures that INS remains flexible, agile and transparent when allocating and utilizing financial resources. Focusing on budget processes and quality assurance, CMB defines the priorities for resource allocation in accordance with the Division’s mandate and strategic plan, sets and reports on key performance indicators, and forecasts resource needs consistent with programme objectives and the Director-General’s priorities.  
CMB also ensures standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other quality assurance documents are developed and updated to guide the standardization and preparations to conduct all types of missions.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
The purpose of this internship is to support the work of the Programme Control and Monitoring Branch (CMB) within the Inspectorate Division (INS) in strengthening data-driven programme oversight, monitoring, and reporting processes, while providing the intern with practical experience in results-based management (RBM), data analysis, and programme support within an international organization.
The intern will contribute to the extraction and structuring of data from programme and project documentation, support the development of monitoring tools and workflows, and assist in analytical and research tasks related to programme performance. Through these activities, the intern will gain hands-on experience in programme monitoring, data management, and reporting practices, as well as exposure to OPCW’s planning and oversight frameworks.

Under the supervision of designated CMB staff, the intern will undertake the following tasks:
Support development of tools and compile data from programme and project reports to support monitoring, tracking, and analysis of INS activities.
Assist in the development and maintenance of datasets, dashboards, and tracking tools aligned with CMB’s monitoring functions.
Support the transformation of information into structured workflows, templates, and presentations to facilitate programme oversight.
Conduct desk research on topics related to programme and project management, performance monitoring of organizational processes, summarizing findings.
Assist in the preparation of meetings, presentations, reports, briefings, and materials for internal coordination and management review.
Provide support for meetings and coordination activities, including logistical and administrative tasks where relevant to learning objectives.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes, tools, and knowledge management practices within the INS.&lt;br /&gt;

The Administration Division manages the OPCW’s day-to-day human resources, finances, and logistical support, and coordinates knowledge management.
The Division also represents the Technical Secretariat during sessions of the Advisory Body on Administrative and Financial Matters (ABAF) and serves as the point of contact for the OPCW’s External Auditor.
The Human Resources Branch provides human resources advice and services to the OPCW in relation to human resources planning, sourcing, recruitment and selection, terms and conditions of service, training and staff development programmes, transition support, and individual staff and manager support and separation processes.
The Branch is also responsible for developing HR best practices and policies, and facilitating staff learning, leadership and talent development, performance and career management, organisational change and work-life balance.
Purpose of Internship:
To offer the Intern hands-on experience in the Human Resources Branch (HRB), supporting initiatives that promote staff wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement within a multicultural international organisation. The Intern will collaborate with the HR Governance Team and may contribute to broader HR projects aligned with their interests and development goals.

Expected start date: May/June 2026&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
 Terms of Reference for the Internship:
The HR Governance Team is set to deliver a programme of staff wellbeing and inclusion e-learning modules and supporting communications this year. Intern will support the HR Governance Team in ensuring timely delivery, maximising quality and organisational reach on the below areas;
Assisting in the development of e-learning content on staff wellbeing and inclusion;
Supporting the creation of short videos and multimedia materials for learning modules;
Assisting with basic scripting, storyboarding, and structuring of digital content;
Formatting and prepare content for upload to internal learning platform Articulate;
Assisting in creating promotional materials to support the rollout of e-learning modules;
Supporting staff wellbeing and inclusion communication campaigns (e.g., visuals, messaging);
Providing general support to HR Governance Team activities related to wellbeing and inclusion, as required;
Undertaking other tasks aligned with team priorities and intern development.

The International Cooperation and Assistance Division serves as international provider and platform for providing specialised and technical assistance in support of States Parties efforts to meet their obligations under the Convention through a portfolio of wide range of programmes and projects. These capacity building programmes are aimed at contributing to build and enhance States Parties capacity to fostering the use of chemistry for peaceful purposes for the economic and technological development of the States Parties; facilitating the national implementation and responding and dealing with threats involving toxic chemicals.
The Implementation Support Branch is responsible for coordinating activities intended at supporting and sustaining capacity of States Parties and their National Authorities for full and effective implementation of the Convention.
The Branch provides tailored assistance and capacity building programs aiming at assisting States Parties in the enactment of national legislation and enhancing capacities of the National Authorities and their effective functioning to effectively fulfil all national obligations under the CWC.
The Branch is also responsible for monitoring, preparing and publishing Annual Reports on the Status of National Implementation of the CWC.

Immediately and August 2026&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
 Purpose of Internship:
The purpose of the internship is to offer motivated students with an opportunity of gaining experience in the work of the OPCW, particularly in relation to national implementation of States Parties’ obligations under the CWC.

Interns will be offered an opportunity to learn by working in the following areas;
Supporting officers in the preparation of relevant reports, i.e., on Status of National implementing legislation by Members States;
Supporting officers in the coordination of activities intended at enhancing the capacity of States Parties and their National Authorities for full and effective implementation of the CWC, e.g. capacity building activities and awareness raising events;
Conducting guided research on issues relating to the CWC, International Law, CWC national legislation.&lt;br /&gt;
